Tool steel is commontly divided into carbon tool steel, alloy tool steel, high speed steel.  
Alloy tool steel is one type of steel adds the alloying elements in the carbon tool steel, such as Si, Mn, Ni, Cr, W, Mo, V. Adding the elements (Cr, Mn) can improve the hardenability of tool steel. Or adding other alloying elements meanwhile (the gross is not more than 5%)

 is widely used to produce the cutting tool, cold/heat distortion mould and measuring implement. and further to manufacture the piston, valve, valve seat of fuel pump of engine.
